Therapy Methods

We are deeply experienced in EMDR and IFS, which are innovative, evidence-based approaches that address both traumatic memories and internal emotional dynamics. These methods facilitate deep healing and long-term success by helping patients process past experiences and harmonize their inner emotional states, leading to lasting balance and resilience.

  • EMDR is a type of psychotherapy that uses bi-lateral stimulation such as eye movements or tapping to help patients process traumatic memories and other distressing experiences. EMDR helps lessen the intensity of past trauma and facilitates long-term healing.

  • IFS is a type of psychotherapy that helps people identify and accept different parts of themselves. IFS is based on the idea that people have multiple sub-personalities, or “parts,” within them, each with unique qualities, emotions, and perspectives.

    • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): ACT helps patients accept their thoughts and feelings while committing to actions that align with their values, fostering psychological flexibility and personal growth.

    • Baars/Terruwe Model: "Affirmation therapy involves the therapist’s affective, rather than effective, presence with a client. In other words, it is a way of “being” with a person as opposed to “doing” something to or for her. Affirmation therapy can be formally described as a way of being affectively present to another human person in a therapeutic relationship in which the therapist reveals to the client his or her intrinsic goodness and worth." -According to the Baars Institute

    • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): CBT addresses negative thought patterns and behaviors by helping patients develop healthier thinking and coping strategies, promoting effective problem-solving and emotional regulation.

    • Ego State Therapy: This method explores different parts of the self, or “ego states,” to understand and resolve internal conflicts and improve emotional well-being.

    • Gottman Method: The Gottman Method provides couples with research-based tools to enhance communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their relationship, based on extensive studies of successful marriages.

    • Inner Healing: This method addresses and resolves past emotional wounds and traumas to restore emotional health and well-being from within.

    • Prayer: Prayer in therapy involves seeking spiritual support and guidance, and integrating faith into the healing process to provide comfort, clarity, and a more profound sense of connection.
